عن هذه الفرصة

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) Fellowship Program, established in 1940, is one of the largest and most respected visual‑arts fellowships in the United States. The program supports professional artists and art‑history students who demonstrate exceptional creative ability in Virginia. For the 2027‑28 cycle, applications open on July 1 2026 and close at 5 pm on Friday, November 6 2026. Selected recipients receive a stipend of $8,000 (Professional), $6,000 (Graduate), $4,000 (Undergraduate), or $3,000/$2,000 for half‑year fellowships, with no application fee. Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, legal residency in Virginia for at least 12 months (students) or 24 months (professionals) prior to the deadline, and, for professionals, no full‑time degree program during the fellowship period (May 2027 – May 2028). Students must be enrolled full‑time in a Virginia‑based accredited program for the entire fall‑spring academic year. The fellowship includes a one‑year award period, with recipients notified by the third week of February 2027. The VMFA provides no studio, housing, or travel support; the stipend is intended to advance the artist’s career. Applicants submit an online application via Formstack, including a CV, work samples, and an artist statement, and must adhere to detailed submission guidelines for each discipline.
