Residência do Centro de Artes Criativas da Virgínia (VCCA) – Mt. San Angelo

The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) runs a highly regarded artist residency program at its Mt. San Angelo campus in Amherst, Virginia. Each year the program accepts applications for three distinct scheduling periods – Spring (applications open Feb 1, deadline May 15), Summer (open Jun 1, deadline Sep 15) and Fall (open Oct 1, deadline Jan 15). The upcoming Fall 2027 cycle is currently open, with a deadline of January 15, 2027. Applicants are selected by peer‑review panels based on professional achievement or promise in writing, visual art, or music composition. A standard application fee of $30 applies, with fee waivers available on request. Residents receive a private, climate‑controlled studio, a private bedroom, meals, and access to a vibrant community of fellows. Fully‑funded fellowships and additional financial assistance are offered on a competitive basis. Artists may hold a VCCA residency at Mt. San Angelo only once every two years, and returning fellows must wait accordingly. No age or nationality limits are imposed. The residency supports flexible lengths within each period, allowing artists to schedule their stay between January and December depending on the cycle. VCCA’s mission is to provide uninterrupted time and space for creators to produce their finest work.
