Ucross Foundation
Sobre Esta Oportunidade

The Ucross Foundation, founded in 1981, hosts an artist residency program that welcomes visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, interdisciplinary artists, performance artists, and collaborative teams from the United States and worldwide. Each year, approximately 115 artists are selected for two-week to six-week residencies, with up to ten individuals in residence at any time—typically four writers, four visual artists, and two composers. The program offers free living accommodations, meals prepared by a professional chef, workspace, cell phone service, wireless internet, weekly housekeeping, towels, and linens. Artists are responsible for their own working materials and travel to Sheridan, Wyoming. The residency is open to both established and emerging artists who demonstrate professional standing. The program runs twice a year: a Fall session (August–early December) with applications open from November 1 to January 15, and a Spring session (February–early June) with applications open from May 1 to July 15. The next open call for the Fall 2027 session will open on November 1, 2026, with a deadline of January 15, 2027. Application materials can be submitted via the Ucross Submittable portal, and detailed guidelines are available in PDF form. The residency provides a supportive environment free from daily pressures, allowing artists to focus on their creative process.
