Programa de Artista Residente (AiR) – Centro de Artes Kiyooka Ohe

The Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre (KOAC) offers an Artist in Residence (AiR) Program for artists of all disciplines to develop their practice in a contemplative natural setting on the centre’s 20‑acre sculpture park near Calgary. Applications are accepted annually in October, with a deadline of 1 November 2026 at 11:59 pm. Selected residents will work between June 2027 and June 2028 for a flexible period of 4–8 weeks, during which they receive a clean, semi‑private studio of approximately 200 sq ft, access to an outdoor serviced washroom, free parking, and letters of support for external grant applications. KOAC also provides a CARFAC‑aligned honorarium for one public engagement activity (artist talk, workshop, or open studio). The residency does not include accommodation, travel, or material funding; artists must cover these costs themselves. The site is located in Springbank, Alberta, and while the environment is not fully wheelchair accessible, it offers a quiet, nature‑immersed space for focused creation. Applicants must propose a public engagement activity and commit to a minimum of 5–10 hours per week in the studio. The application is submitted via an online JotForm.
