The District of West Vancouver – Cultural Services – is seeking artists or artist teams to propose a public art installation for the Place for Sport redevelopment at 1750 Mathers Avenue, the site of West Vancouver Secondary School. The call invites proposals for either an art mural (maximum budget $30,000) or a fabricated wall installation (maximum budget $150,000). All works must be constructed with durable, public‑safe materials and designed with long‑term maintenance in mind. Applicants must reside in British Columbia, demonstrate an understanding of the project’s vision and themes, possess the skills and experience to manage all phases from design to installation, and be able to meet deadlines and stay within the approved budget. The application process is conducted through BC Bid, the District’s authorized bidding portal, where expressions of interest are submitted by the deadline of October 15 2026 at 2:00 PM. Selected artists will receive the full budget allocation, which includes fabrication, artist fees, delivery, installation, insurance, and taxes.
