Sobre Esta Oportunidade

Itinera Arte is an independent contemporary art platform based in downtown Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Its International Artist Residency Program provides a two‑month studio residency (with flexibility between 1‑3 months) for Brazilian and international artists working across visual arts, interdisciplinary and experimental practices. Residents receive a studio space (≈25 m²), curatorial guidance, portfolio reviews, critical follow‑up, networking opportunities, and a collective exhibition/open studio at the end of the program. Itinera Arte covers part of the residency cost through institutional support; Brazilian artists receive a partially subsidised fee and two full scholarships are offered to artists residing in Brazil based on socioeconomic vulnerability, race, and gender. Non‑Brazilian artists pay €1,100 for an individual studio or €850 for a shared studio. Brazilian artists/residents pay R$2,500 for a shared studio. Accommodation is not provided directly, but the organization offers practical assistance to find housing. Applicants must submit a portfolio, CV, and artist statement (in English or Portuguese) and, for scholarship applicants, a motivation letter. The call is open to artists with an active contemporary practice who can communicate in English or Portuguese. The deadline for applications is 30 Nov 2026.
