Nicholas Crombach: Xenolithi

Latcham Art Centre invites photographers, videographers, and tattoo artists to submit work for a year‑long photo‑based art project that explores the cultural, historical, and personal dimensions of tattooing. The project will document the stories of tattoo owners and artists, and will culminate in a public exhibition held in Stouffville, Ontario, from August to October 2027. Selected artists will collaborate with community members during onsite photo sessions scheduled for January to May 2027, and will work with Latcham staff to develop an immersive visual narrative. Submissions must include up to ten images (jpg, jpeg, png, or pdf, ≤1 MB each), a brief biography, a statement of interest in tattoos, a CV, and an image list. The call is open to artists working in photography, videography, or tattoo art, with no explicit age or residency restrictions. Applications are accepted through Latcham’s online submission portal; guidelines and a detailed proposal form are available in the accompanying PDF. The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2026, with notifications sent on 15 November 2026. The project offers artists the opportunity to engage in community collaboration, receive professional support, and showcase their work in a public exhibition.
