Sobre Esta Oportunidade

Living Places 2026 is the sixth edition of the Simon Architecture Prize, an international competition that celebrates architectural projects which enhance the everyday experience of people. Curated by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe and organized by Simon, the prize focuses on the role of video as a key medium for communicating architecture. The call is open to architects, urban planners, landscape architects and the general public who can nominate any built work that was completed and occupied between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2025. Eligible works must be located on European territory, in Mexico, Brazil or Morocco. Architects may submit up to four works, and nominations can be made by the architects themselves, clients, users or collaborators. There is no submission fee.

The nomination period runs from 27 May to 14 September 2026, with a separate submission deadline of 5 October 2026. The jury will meet in November to select finalists, announce them in December, and award the winners in February 2027 in Barcelona. Two categories—Personal Places and Collective Places—will each award a cash prize of 10 000 EUR, along with an exclusive piece designed by Andreu Carulla. The prize also offers recognition and a platform for the winning projects within the Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture programme.
