Le Clos de Saman

Le Clos de Saman is an artist residency located in the small village of Saman, just an hour south of Toulouse in Southwest France. The residency occupies a renovated 18th‑century barn that provides a 40 m² light‑filled studio on the first floor and separate living quarters on the ground floor, including a kitchen, bathroom and bed for up to two people. Artists working in painting, writing, composition, translation and related disciplines are welcomed. The residency also offers a shared workshop with electric tools, a woodshed suitable for sculpture or installation work, a piano, a Yamaha DX7 synthesiser, a printer, basic art supplies, WiFi, and a basic kitchen. Meals and transport from the nearest airport or train station are provided by the host. The program runs for 1 week to a maximum of 6 weeks, with rolling applications and no fixed deadline. Applicants are encouraged to email the organizers at least two months in advance with a brief project proposal. The residency is open to artists of all nationalities and career stages, with no age or residency restrictions noted.
