The Kokuyo Design Award 2027, organized by Kokuyo Co., Ltd., focuses on the reciprocal relationships behind excellent design under the theme “dialogue.” Designers are asked to create stationery, furniture, or tools used in working, learning, and living scenes that explore the space between creator, user, and environment. Submissions are accepted from July 24 to October 7, 2026. The competition offers a Grand Prix of ¥2,000,000, three Merit Awards of ¥500,000 each, and up to ten New Generation Awards of ¥30,000 each (the latter limited to students from elementary to graduate level). There is no entry fee. Judging criteria include originality, social relevance, and production potential. Winners receive prize money and the opportunity for exposure through Kokuyo’s channels.
