The Salon Art Prize (formerly The PleinAir Salon) runs its 16th Annual competition online from August 24 to September 22, 2026. Artists submit original paintings or drawings (no photography, AI‑generated or digitally altered works) in one of 19 categories. Monthly winners receive cash awards (e.g., $600 first place) and are automatically entered into the Annual Competition held in May 2027, where the Grand Prizes of $15,000 each are awarded and the winning works appear on the covers of PleinAir and Fine Art Connoisseur magazines. The total cash prize pool exceeds $65,000. Eligibility requires entrants to be at least 18 years old and residents of any state or country where legally permissible. Entry fees are $29 (early bird) or $40 (regular) for the first category, with additional category fees of $12 or $16 respectively. All entries must be original, 100 % painted by the artist, and submitted as high‑resolution JPEG files. The competition is online‑only; no travel or housing is provided.
