FACTOR (Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings)
Sobre Esta Oportunidade
FACTOR (Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings) provides two rolling grant programs for Canadian‑based musicians. The Live Performance program subsidises the cost of domestic and international tours and showcases. Funding levels vary by artist rating: General artists may receive up to CAD 7,500 for showcase support (with a maximum of CAD 5,000 for domestic showcases) and up to CAD 5,000 for domestic tour support; Artist 2 may receive up to CAD 32,500 total (CAD 30,000 for tour, CAD 7,500 for showcase); Artist 3 may receive up to CAD 37,500 total (CAD 35,000 for tour, CAD 7,500 for showcase). Applications are accepted year‑round for Artist 2 and 3, while General‑artist tour submissions follow set deadlines of 1 June, 1 September and 1 December 2026. The Video program supports the production of music videos for artists rated 2 or 3, offering up to CAD 20,000 (Artist 2) or CAD 30,000 (Artist 3) per qualifying release. The video grant has a rolling deadline but must be submitted by 14 January 2027 to be counted in the current fiscal year (April 1 2026 – March 31 2027). Both programs require a current or upcoming release (within 24 months or 6 months of the tour/showcase date). Applications are free, and FACTOR contributes 50 % of the approved budget, with the remainder paid on completion. Eligibility is limited to Canadian artists with a FACTOR rating of 2 or 3 (General artists may apply for showcase only).
