The Photographers’ Gallery
Sobre Esta Oportunidade
The Photographers’ Gallery, in partnership with The Ampersand Foundation, invites individual artists over 18 with the legal right to work in the UK to apply for a two‑month residency (2 February – 31 March 2027) at Wigwell Lodge in Derbyshire. The residency supports research, experimentation and speculative projects at the intersection of photography, technology and visual culture. Applicants may respond to themes such as image‑making, celestial fictions, computational culture, collective knowledge, deep time, and AI world models. The residency offers two months’ accommodation and studio space, a £1,000 monthly stipend, a £1,000 production budget, up to £500 travel support, promotion, curatorial and administrative assistance, and a public presentation or showcase at The Photographers’ Gallery or a partner venue. Selection is made by a panel including curators from The Photographers’ Gallery, The Ampersand Foundation and academic experts. The call is open from 20 July 2026 (10:00 am) to 6 September 2026 (11:59 pm BST). Applications are submitted free of charge via Submittable. The residency is not wheelchair accessible and visa sponsorship is not available. The opportunity aims to foster innovative approaches to image making, cosmology, and AI‑driven visual culture.
