Sobre Esta Oportunidade
The Center for Book Arts invites poets to submit original manuscripts for its annual Chapbook Competition. Submissions must be anonymous, no more than 450 lines or 21 pages, and may include translations of the author’s own work. The competition awards a winner and two runners‑up. The winner receives a $500 honorarium, a $500 stipend for a public reading, a week‑long residency at Millay Arts, and ten copies of a hand‑crafted chapbook. Runners‑up receive a $250 honorarium and ten copies of a limited‑edition broadside. All winners and runners‑up manuscripts are published in limited‑edition chapbooks or broadsides produced by the Center’s artists. The application deadline is December 15, 2026, with judging in May 2027. The competition is held annually in New York City and offers a unique opportunity for poets to collaborate with book artists and gain exposure through a prestigious publication and residency program.
