Convite para a apresentação de propostas de arte pública: Biblioteca Eastside
Athens-Clarke County Unified Government
Sobre Esta Oportunidade
On August 2026, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government (ACCGov) announced a call for professional artists to submit qualifications for a mural at the new Eastside Library in Athens, GA. The project aims to enhance the library’s interior with a large‑scale public artwork that celebrates literacy, storytelling, local history, and community learning. The mural will be located on a 4.5 ft × 87.5 ft wall in the main room, with an adjacent 7 ft × 30 ft wall. The call invites artists or teams aged 18 and older who are legal residents of the United States, preferably with experience in public art and community collaboration, and who are not currently employed by ACCGov. Applicants must submit a resume, references, three JPEG images of comparable work, a proposal narrative, a budget, and indicate interest in mentoring a local artist. The selection panel will review proposals blind, and finalists will be contacted in September 2026. The selected artist(s) will receive a fee of $350 and a contract covering design, materials, insurance, equipment rental, travel, installation, and artist’s fees. The application deadline is September 18, 2026 at 5 PM EST. The project is open to professional artists only and is a competition for a public art commission.
