Chamada para propostas: Obras de arte fotográficas do outono em Muskoka

The Town of Gravenhurst, in partnership with the Gravenhurst BIA Review Steering Committee, is calling for artists, designers, illustrators, graphic artists, and artist teams to propose an original digital artwork that celebrates the fall season in Muskoka. The selected design will be turned into a 4‑ft. by 8‑ft. outdoor interactive photo‑op installation in downtown Gravenhurst, intended to create a fun, visually engaging destination that encourages residents and visitors to interact, photograph, and share the experience.

The call opens on September 22, 2026, with a submission deadline of October 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET. The selected artist will receive a commission of $1,000 plus HST, one round of revisions, and the responsibility for delivering a final high‑resolution, print‑ready digital artwork. The town will handle fabrication, printing, delivery, and installation of the physical structure.

Eligibility is open to individual artists and teams across a range of visual disciplines, with a preference for those based in Gravenhurst or the broader Muskoka region. Proposals should be original, accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the theme of fall in Muskoka, and must fit within the specified 4‑ft. by 8‑ft. format. Submissions should include a brief artist statement, concept description, sketch or mock‑up, and up to five portfolio examples.

The selection process is a single‑stage competition reviewed by town staff and the BIA steering committee, with the winner notified on October 12, 2026. The final artwork is due by October 16, 2026, with installation scheduled for October 23, 2026.
