The Fine Arts Field Grant by Society Awards, administered by The Explorers Club, pairs visual artists with recipients of the Impact Grant – scientists, researchers and adventurers conducting field work in remote locations. Selected artists join an expedition that matches their artistic interests, creating new work inspired by the environment and later exhibiting the results at The Explorers Club in New York. The grant welcomes painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers and practitioners of any fine‑arts discipline, regardless of career stage or Explorers Club membership. Applicants must demonstrate a strong, distinctive body of work and a clear conceptual link between their practice and the spirit of exploration. The program looks for curiosity, flexibility and resilience needed for field work. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are reviewed continuously. No application fee is required. The award does not provide a monetary stipend; instead it offers the unique opportunity to travel on an expedition, produce a body of work, and present it in a public exhibition at The Explorers Club.
