Programa Art Platform – Art Platform Start 2027-2028

The Mondriaan Fund’s Art Platform Programme – Art Platform Start 2027-2028 offers a grant of €50,000 per year for a two‑year period (total €100,000) to emerging organisations whose core activity is the presentation of contemporary visual art. Eligible applicants are start‑up art platforms that have been operating for no more than five years, have legal status, and are based in the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. The grant supports multiple presentations and related activities over the two calendar years. Organisations such as museums, archives with a presentation function, workshops, art fairs, galleries, events, biennials, online platforms and festivals are excluded. Applications are submitted through the Mondriaan Fund’s online system, with a deadline of 5 February 2027 (4 PM Dutch time). The fund requires adherence to the Fair Practice Code, Culture Governance Code and Diversity & Inclusion Code, and at least 10 % of the structural budget must be covered by third‑party contributions or own income. The selection criteria focus on artistic quality, audience reach, local embedding, organisational capacity and compliance with the mentioned codes. Results are announced in early May 2026, and successful applicants receive the stipulated funding to realise their programme plans.

Only starting art platforms with legal status can apply. An art platform must be established in the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, and this must also be the location of the activities.
