Residência Artística Apapacho (CDMX)

Apapacho is a multipurpose residency program run by PROArtes México in the heart of Mexico City (Barrio del Valle). It welcomes emerging, mid‑career and established arts practitioners – including visual, performing, literary, multidisciplinary and experimental artists, as well as curators and art historians. Residents receive a private bedroom with a queen‑size bed, a shared salon‑studio, an equipped kitchen‑dining area and a patio studio. The residency can accommodate one or two persons (plus one pet with approval) and lasts between 5 and 28 days. Applications are submitted via a Google form on a rolling basis and are reviewed quarterly (deadlines 1 April, 1 July, 1 October, 1 January). Depending on funding availability, the host may offer partially funded residencies or discounts; otherwise artists cover travel, food, accommodation and a mandatory MXN 500 cleaning fee. Applicants from the Global South are eligible for reduced fees. An invitation letter is provided upon request to support external funding applications. The program aims to foster thoughtful, caring interactions and offers mentorship through pre‑arrival video/phone meetings.
