Prêmio de Poesia Peter Porter 2027

The Australian Book Review (ABR) announces the opening of entries for the 2027 Peter Porter Poetry Prize, now in its twenty‑third year. Poets from around the world may submit a single original poem in English, not exceeding 60 lines, that has not been previously published. Submissions are made online and are judged by a panel comprising Mindy Gill, Nam Le and Felicity Plunkett. The competition offers a first‑place prize of AUD 6,000, with four shortlisted poets each receiving AUD 1,000 and having their poems published in the January‑February 2027 issue of ABR. Entry fees are AUD 30 per poem, reduced to AUD 20 for current ABR subscribers. The call is open to all poets regardless of age or nationality, with the only restrictions being language, originality, length, and a prohibition on the use of generative AI tools. The deadline for submissions is 14 October 2026 (11:55 pm).
