Programa de Residência para Curadores 2026
Mori Contemporary Art Foundation (MoriCAF)
Sobre Esta Oportunidade
The Mori Contemporary Art Foundation (MoriCAF) has announced the 2027 edition of its Curator Residency Program, a selective initiative aimed at fostering international dialogue around Japanese contemporary art. The program is open to curators who are based outside Japan and possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in contemporary art curation. Applicants may be of any age or nationality, provided they meet the residency criteria. Selected participants—three to four curators—will spend between one and three months (up to 90 days) in Japan, with residency periods scheduled between April 2027 and March 2028. During their stay, curators will conduct in‑depth research on Japanese artists, visit museums and galleries, and collaborate with local artists and art professionals. The residency offers a structured research framework, access to a network of Japanese institutions, and opportunities to develop new exhibitions, research projects, and collaborative ventures. The application deadline is October 31, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time. The program is free to apply, with no application fee. While the residency does not provide a stipend, participants gain invaluable research time, professional networking, and exposure to Japan’s contemporary art scene. The MoriCAF Curator Residency Program 2027 is a recurring annual call, with the next edition scheduled for 2028.
