With a one-year exhibition, a Bremen artist will have the opportunity to show their drawing work to an international audience in a compact exhibition in the representative rooms of the Bremen State Representation in Brussels from November 2025. Subsequently, there is also the possibility to present the exhibition in the rooms of the Bremen State Representation in Berlin for several months. twogether is a since 2003 established reading and exhibition format in the Bremen State Representation in Brussels, which brings literature and visual arts together in an innovative way. At twogether, the current award winner of the Bremen Literature Prize is brought together with a Bremen artist of the year, awarded by the Senator for Culture. The (drawing) work of the artist will be shown in the rooms of the State Representation for a year. All professionally working artists in Bremen can apply, who focus on drawing in their work. The term drawing is interpreted very broadly, so that artists with different forms of expression can apply to this program: The spectrum ranges from delicate pencil and pen drawings to powerful pastel and charcoal drawings to multimedia comics and illustrations. In addition to traditional drawing techniques, experimental strategies are also welcome, which test unusual drawing media and carriers with the help of the latest technologies and thus rise above the surface and conquer the space or even self-reflexively and playfully focus on the carrier medium paper.
