About This Opportunity

The Institut Français d’Indonésie, Fundação Oriente and the Cité internationale des arts in Paris announce the Timor‑Leste Residency Programme, a three‑month artist‑researcher residency open to Timorese creators of all disciplines. Selected laureates receive a live‑in studio at the Cité internationale des arts, a monthly net stipend of €850, round‑trip international travel, travel insurance, visa fee coverage, and a €200 arrival allowance. The programme also provides mentorship, networking events and meetings with partner institutions. Applications are accepted from 2 July to 30 August 2026 (second round 2 February–27 April 2027). Eligibility requires Timorese nationality, at least five years of professional artistic experience, practice in visual, performance, music, sound, writing, design, architecture‑urbanism, curatorial or art criticism, and proficiency in English or French. The application consists of a CV, portfolio (max 15 pages) and a statement of intent (max 3 pages) submitted via an online Google Form. One residency is awarded per edition. The residency is not accessible for persons with disabilities, but improvements are planned. The call is recurring, with the next edition announced for 2027.

Open to Timorese artists‑researchers of all ages with at least 5 years professional experience; fields: visual, performance, music, sound, writing, design, architecture‑urbanism, curatorial practice, art criticism; must communicate in English or French.
