The IWC launches an Art Competition to mark 80 years of science and stewardship
About This Opportunity
This year marks 80 years of the IWC. As part of a series of activities to commemorate the past 80 years of whale science and stewardship, the IWC has launched an Art Competition for any budding artists or ocean enthusiasts aged 4-18. The competition opens on Wednesday 22 April 2026 and closes on Wednesday 5 August 2026. There will be two competitions: the first for anyone aged 4-11, and the second for anyone aged 12-18. Young people are welcome to take part from anywhere in the world. Every entrant will be awarded a certificate, and for each competition, there will be an overall winner and two runners-up. The winning entries will be chosen by Martha Rojas Urrego, the IWC’s Executive Secretary, for their creativity and originality; their composition and design; the use of colour and technique; and their overall effort and presentation.
