Salón Nacional de Rosario 2025: open call for contemporary artists

The National Salon of Rosario is a platform that aims to make visible productions, processes and circuits of contemporary artistic practices, seeking to highlight the complexities and derivations that underlie them. The contest configures the most relevant exhibition instance in the city of Rosario for artists who are in full development of their projects. Likewise, it is the most outstanding possibility of enriching public heritage through two acquisition prizes: Premio Salón Nacional de Rosario and Premio Colección. Since 2016, the Salon has had the Museo de arte contemporáneo de Rosario (macro) as its seat, which is the national reference institution for hosting and promoting the complexity and richness of the proposed works. Since 2021, the Secretaría de Cultura y Educación has considered that the selected artists will receive an incentive to production as support for the costs that it may cause and as a recognition for having been in the final selection. The contest continues to be without distinction of disciplines, assuming the transdisciplinary condition of contemporary artistic productions. In order to consolidate its national scope and providing a simple application system, the online registration will be maintained. From the 2021 edition, the Museum together with the Fundación Castagnino proposes an innovation: the option of acquisition by the same amount of the prizes among the selected works. This decision will be taken by the Museum and the Foundation according to the pertinence of the incorporation to the macro collection.
