Salón Nacional de Rosario 2025: open call for contemporary artists

The Salón Nacional de Rosario is formulated as a platform whose objective is to make visible productions, processes, and circuits proper to contemporary artistic practices, seeking to highlight the complexities and derivations that underlie them. The competition configures the most relevant exhibition instance in the city of Rosario for artists who are in full development of their projects. Likewise, it is the most outstanding possibility of enriching public heritage through two acquisition prizes: Premio Salón Nacional de Rosario and Premio Colección. Since 2016, the Salón has had the Museo de arte contemporáneo de Rosario (macro) as its seat, which is the national reference institution for hosting and promoting the complexity and richness of the proposed works. Since 2021, the Secretaría de Cultura y Educación has considered that the selected artists will receive an incentive to production as support for the costs that it may cause and as a recognition for having been left in the final selection. The competition continues to be without distinction of disciplines, assuming the transdisciplinary condition of contemporary artistic productions. With the aim of consolidating its national scope and providing a simple application system, the online registration will be maintained. From the 2021 edition, the Museum, together with the Fundación Castagnino, proposes an innovation: the option of acquisition for the same amount of the prizes among the selected works. This decision will be taken by the Museum and the Foundation according to the pertinence of the incorporation to the macro collection.
