Revised Mzansi Golden Economy (MGE) Open Call Grant Funding Applications

The National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture announces the reopening of the Revised Mzansi Golden Economy (MGE) open call grant funding applications to the cultural and creative industries/ Arts, Culture and Heritage Fraternity. Following the adjudication process of the initial electronic applications, with the recommendation from the MGE adjudication panel, the Department, in consultation with Minister Gayton McKenzie, decided to broaden the scope of MGE to allow greater participation, access and public fairness. Subsequently, the Ministry issued a public statement on Friday, 7 March 2025 that the call for funding will be reopened with a revised criteria on Thursday, 20th March 2025. Applications will be manually submitted from the 10th to the 12th of April 2025 as detailed below:
