PADA Studios launches open call for Bolsa Barreiro 2026

The second open call for Bolsa Barreiro (PADA Studios scholarship) has been launched, aimed at providing artistic residency space to three local emerging artists. The deadline for applications is September 7, 2025. This scholarship aims to support emerging artists, contributing to their professional development. Artists with accepted applications will have the opportunity to use the PADA spaces for residence, with their costs supported by the Barreiro Municipal Council and PADA. Each year, three local emerging artists will benefit from this scholarship, in a period of residence that coincides with the main PADA program, the International Residency: a project that brings together artists from various nationalities in the PADA studios, allowing artistic enjoyment, knowledge sharing, and international networking. The Bolsa Barreiro artist group will integrate all the activities that make up the International Residency, such as tours, conversations with curators, visits to galleries and art spaces in Lisbon, among others. They also have access to all PADA facilities, including an individual studio, for the development of their work. At the end of the annual cycle of Bolsa Barreiro, the group of artists will participate in an exhibition at the PADA Gallery. Applications are made through an open call.
