PACT Zollverein

Founded in 2002 and located in the former wash house on shaft 1/2/8, PACT Zollverein sees itself as an initiator, motor and stage for groundbreaking developments in dance, performance, theater, media and visual arts. Three programmatic lines characterize the work of the house, which contributes regionally, nationally and internationally to the localization and appreciation of dance and performance as independent art forms: In the framework of the open residency program for artists from all over the world, PACT Zollverein creates space for concentrated production processes. The Platform area initiates interdisciplinary exchange between artists, scientists and students as well as critical questioning of their methods and results. A third focus lies on a high-profile stage program with premieres, coproductions and guest performances.
