Open rank Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Architecture
About This Opportunity
The program is distinguished from other master’s programs in history, theory and criticism by its focus upon extensive rigorous methods training. There is a sequence of four required methods courses that all students on the program must take and which cover foundational topics, approaches, concepts and issues: Methods in Architectural History, Methods in Architectural Theory, Methods in Architectural Criticism, and Methods in Architectural Education. The program is also distinguished by its emphasis upon the critical analysis of the ideas, discourses, and ideologies that form architecture’s contemporary situation.
What's Offered
The program is supported by a wealth of expert historians, theorists, critics and designers at the Virginia Tech School of Architecture who serve as affiliate faculty to the program and who offer elective courses and thesis advising.
