Open Call: Homegrown

The Starving Artist
Deadline: July 31, 2026

About This Opportunity

The Starving Artist invites artists, writers, and creative practitioners to participate in our upcoming exhibition and publication, “Home Grown.” This project explores the lived realities of food on how it is produced, consumed, shared, withheld, and remembered. Home Grown is interested in the everyday, often invisible relationships we have with land, labour, and nourishment. It listens to the voices embedded in farming, cooking, harvesting, feeding, and surviving. It asks how collective agricultural knowledge, inherited practices, and embodied care shape who we are and how we live together. _ We welcome work that reflects on food not only as sustenance, but as memory, politics, labour, identity, and connection to land._ _ _
