Open Call: Haus am Waldsee Summer School 2025
About This Opportunity
This four-day program invites participants to engage with the complex histories of the house, once a private residence entangled in the ideological shifts of the 20th century, and later one of the first cultural institutions to reopen in post-war Berlin. The Summer School will address questions of institutional memory, continuity and rupture, and the politics of cultural rebuilding in the immediate aftermath of WWII. Through archival workshops, artist talks, lectures, screenings and site-specific walks, the program will excavate overlapping social, historical and aesthetic layers of Haus am Waldsee’s past and reflect on how these inform its present role. Guest lecturers include artists and thinkers such as Kirsty Bell, Atièna R. Kilfa and Veit Laurent Kurz, among others.
