Open Call -Goldstücke 2025 – Light Art Festival in Gelsenkirchen

Dear artists and collectives, We are pleased to announce that Genius Loci Weimar will be curating and producing the light art festival Goldstücke 2025 taking place in October 2025 in Gelsenkirchen. From 2 to 5 October 2025, the Buer district city centre in Gelsenkirchen will once again be transformed into an atmospheric stage for artistic light interventions. We invite individual artists and interdisciplinary teams to submit new concepts or existing light artworks that can be well adapted to the urban environment. This year’s edition follows the theme “Active Positive,” inspired by architect Oskar Hansen’s concept of “Open Form.” We wish to promote a shared, optimistic engagement with our built environment, encouraging participation and dialogue through light art.
