About This Opportunity

Im zweiten Halbjahr des Kulturhauptstadtjahres Chemnitz 2025 startet die FUNKEN Akademie gemeinsam mit der Technischen Universität Chemnitz (TUC) ein Workshopprogramm für Absolvent:innen sächsischer Kunst- und Musikhochschulen. Gesucht werden Künstler:innen, die diese Workshops anleiten wollen und an den Themen der TU Chemnitz sowie an einem interdisziplinären Austausch mit Wissenschaftler:innen und Technologieexpert:innen interessiert sind. Sie werden in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Projektkonsortium sowie nach einer kurzen Rechercheresidenz in den Räumen und Laboren der TU Chemnitz ein mehrtägiges Workshopprogramm für Studierende der Kunst- und Musikhochschulen konzipieren und durchführen. In der anschließenden Reifephase betreuen sie die entstandenen künstlerischen Arbeiten und begleiten die Ausstellung am 12. November 2025. In drei interdisziplinären Workshops werden zentrale Forschungsbereiche und Kernkompetenzen des Forschungszentrums MAIN, MeTech sowie des Forschungsclusters MERGE für künstlerische Reflexion und Praxis zugänglich gemacht. Unter dem Motto „C the Unseen“ werden innovative Technologien und wissenschaftliche Methoden als Impulse und Werkzeuge für ästhetisches und poetisches Schaffen genutzt. Das Projekt fördert transdisziplinäre Perspektiven und macht die Forschungsaktivitäten der TU Chemnitz als zeitgenössisch relevante Themenfelder für künstlerische Auseinandersetzung und die Öffentlichkeit sichtbar.
