About This Opportunity
The Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU), located at U Akademie 4, Prague 7, in accordance with Section 77 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll and the valid AVU Regulations for the selection procedure for occupying the positions of academic staff announces a selection procedure for the position of Lecturer in the Art in Context programme (STUDIO course). This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position and is intended for graduates of art universities. The STUDIO course is the central component of AVU’s English-thought, studio-based Master’s programme Art in Context at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. It is conceived as a course where students develop artistic practices rooted in real-world contexts. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, participation, and responsiveness to diverse cultural, historical, and social environments. The course encourages students to engage with communication across differences through contemporary art. The position involves teaching at Master’s level, potential supervision of PhD candidates, and active participation in the academic, research, and administrative development of the programme in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
