About This Opportunity
Play Practice Artists Residency welcomes interdisciplinary movement and performing artists from around the world to immerse themselves in a peaceful, artist-run space in India—offering accommodation, sprung-floor studios, and a vibrant atmosphere for deep research, creation, collaboration, and exchange amid sunny days and rich connections to Bangalore’s dance scene. The minimum stay is two weeks, and the maximum stay is thirty days. The Play Practice Artists Residency, led by Abhilash Ningappa, welcomes interdisciplinary movement and performing artists from around the world to live, work, and create in a peaceful, artist-run space near Bangalore, India. The residency offers time and space for in-depth research and creative exploration in a setting away from the noise of the city, with warm sunny weather and a natural environment. PPAR is a self-generated, non-profit initiative built on collaboration between artists and the Play Practice team. It provides affordable and flexible opportunities for independent creators, performers, and researchers to deepen their practice. Residents have access to four to six hours of daily studio time for creative work. Accommodation is provided for artists and collaborators. There is also an opportunity for a final presentation or performance at the end of the stay. The residency supports artists in connecting with local creatives for collaboration and offers invitation letters to assist with funding and visa applications.
