About This Opportunity
MOVIDA (Movement and Virtual Intelligence for the Development and Accessibility of Artists and Audiences) is a three‑year EU‑funded project (2026‑2029) that explores AI and related technologies in contemporary dance. The project is opening a Call for Participation in MOVIDA Labs for 16 multidisciplinary duos, each consisting of a dancer and a technologist. Four 9‑day labs will be hosted in Bucharest (Romania), Düsseldorf (Germany), Lisbon/Montemor‑o‑Novo (Portugal) and Tallinn (Estonia) between December 2026 and February 2027. Selected duos receive a gross fee of €1,200 per artist, a production budget up to €500, four days of masterclasses, four half‑days of studio access, equipment, documentation, and invitation to future networking events. An additional fast‑track option offers a two‑month residency in 2027‑2028. Applications are limited to one lab per duo and must be submitted by 3 August 2026 (23:59 CEST). Eligibility requires both applicants to reside in Europe (EU or Creative Europe eligible country) and to demonstrate capabilities in integrating technology with dance. The call includes three tracks (General, Regional, Ukrainian) with specific residency requirements. Selection is based on artistic statements, dance portfolio, and computational creativity portfolio. An information session will be held on 30 June via Zoom. For further details and to apply, visit the links provided.
