Center for Contemporary Art Beirut invites emerging artists to explore the symbolism of fire, its transformative powers, and paradoxes. In a region shaped by collective trauma and disaster, how can the presence of fire illuminate our shared history and potential future? How can we navigate its dual nature – destructive and generative at once – to face what lies ahead? What are the ways in which this central force addresses our collective desires and needs? How can we harness anger and emotion, not as ends in themselves, but as catalysts for new possibilities, using the fluctuating energy of fire to forge new paths forward?
