New residency program for artistic practices in Uruguay

With the name «1825: Center for current artistic practices» this initiative of the National Culture Directorate is driven by the National Institute of Visual Arts (INAV) and the Contemporary Art Space (EAC). In this first edition, two residency periods (October and November 2025) are offered, with a total of 10 places. Each selected artist will receive accommodation, transportation, workspace, specialized tutoring, a $21,000 grant, and an integral program of activities. Located in the Miguelete 1825 grounds, the residence is part of the cultural complex that integrates the Contemporary Art Space (EAC) and the Natural History Museum. This new residence aims to contribute to the professionalization of artists, stimulate dialogue between regions, and promote the development of collaboration networks in the field of contemporary visual arts.
