New residency program for artistic practices in Uruguay

With the name «1825: Center for Contemporary Art Residencies» this initiative of the National Directorate of Culture is driven by the National Institute of Visual Arts (INAV) and the Space of Contemporary Art (EAC). In this first edition, two periods of residence (October and November 2025) are offered, with a total of 10 places. Each selected artist will receive accommodation, transportation, workspace, specialized tutorials, a $21,000 scholarship and an integral program of activities. Located in the Miguelete 1825 plot, the residence is part of the cultural complex that integrates the Space of Contemporary Art (EAC) and the Natural History Museum. This new residence aims to contribute to the professionalization of artists, stimulate dialogue between regions and promote the development of collaboration networks in the field of contemporary visual arts.
