Recognising a lack of curatorial opportunities, especially in the North West of England, we have created this annual programme to further support and develop local and emerging talent. By continually expanding the network of researchers and curators we work with, we hope to become a hub for new perspectives and approaches. Residency holders will work alongside the team to gain confidence, skills and experiences through the production and presentation of work that sits at the intersection of art and technology. Becoming valued contributors, participants will be encouraged to share and transfer knowledge, ultimately helping us to shape our research, exhibitions and programme. Applications are now open for a Research Curator and Curator-in-Residence. Find out more about each role below. ## Research Curator This role is aimed at early to mid-career curators and researchers who will focus on piloting and interrogating areas of research connected to our artistic programme. There is no fixed outcome, but we would like the Research Curator to focus on approaches to public engagement, as well as the ways in which artists access and utilise new technologies. →Discover more ## Curator-in-Residence Established in 2019, our Curator-in-Residence programme invites Curators, based in the UK or beyond, to develop a major exhibition and a public programme of events that engage with our diverse audiences. We are seeking a Curator to collaborate with us on our 2023/2024 programme, which focuses on Technologies of Togetherness. Technologies of Togetherness explores the possibilities of new forms of collective existence, reconciling the realities of our individuality and the spaces and structures we exist within, to allow us to move within and beyond those boundaries. →Discover more ### The Curator-in-Residence at FACT has been a hugely important part of our programme. It has created an opportunity for mutual exchange and learning, as Residents bring different artists, ideas and approaches to share with FACT and our audiences, while we share our expertise in production, participation and engagement. ### Over the last three years, these residencies have generated provocative and playful exhibitions that have challenged the institution and created memorable experiences for audiences. With the support of the John Ellerman Foundation, we can continue to support new curators and new ways of working. _- Maitreyi Maheshwari (Head of Programme, FACT) _ ### FACT’s Curator-in-Residence programme has opened new avenues and networks for my own practice. Working closely with the team and the artists, we have experimented with diverse approaches in telling stories on ancestry, identities and belonging. It is also my first exhibition project which explores live performance and controlled game as media. In short, it has been rewarding to work collaboratively on realising the artworks' full potential.
