Nautilus 2025 Minnesota Composer-Librettist Studio for Musical Storytelling
About This Opportunity
Nautilus announces its 2025 Composer-Librettist Studio for composers of operas, musicals, and alternative musical-theatrical works! Now in its 41st year, this intensive, two-week program (November 8–25) brings together five Minnesota-based writers and five composers to collaborate with five professional performers in a unique, exploratory environment focused on musical storytelling. Participants rotate creative partners, experiment with form and process, and present their work in Nautilus’ Rough Cuts series. No previous experience in opera or musical theater is required, just a strong creative voice and a desire to collaborate. We welcome artists interested in working in many different styles or innovative forms of telling stories through music. Each artist receives a $900 honorarium.
