About This Opportunity
A. Farm is an artist residency program based in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and managed in partnership with the Goethe-Institut HCMC and with support from Amanaki Thảo Điền. We offer funded, self-funded, and exchange-based opportunities to artists from Vietnam and abroad. Committed to nurturing the growth of contemporary art in Vietnam, A. Farm values experimental creativity, fosters international exchange, and provides sustained, forward-looking engagement with emerging artists. Established in 2018, the residency offers flexible models, tailored mentorship, and community-focused programming. Keeping with A. Farm ethos, artists in residency have complete freedom in their practice; there are no obligations or limitations placed upon them. Resident artists will have the opportunity to explore and familiarize themselves with Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and its surrounding areas, which can be a source of inspiration for their work. A. Farm will offer introductions to art spaces, galleries and other cultural organizations, allowing residents to connect with the local art scene. Monthly visits to artists’ studios, art spaces and galleries in Saigon, as well as additional trips to openings and art events in town, will be part of the program. Each year, the program will be divided into two seasons: Season 8 from 1st July to 31st December 2025 Season 9 from 1st January to 30 June 2026 With a rolling application process, artists can apply throughout the year. The residency duration for self-funded artists is flexible, with a minimum stay of one month, in monthly increments. Shorter periods may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
