About This Opportunity

The Marché des Arts du Spectacle d'Abidjan (MASA), or Abidjan Market for Performing Arts, is a biennial cultural event in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire and one of the major biennial cultural events of francophone West Africa focused on promoting and developing the performing arts sector in Africa. It stands on par with similar international gatherings in the region such as the Dak'art biennale for the visual arts, or FESPACO in Ouagadougou for cinema. MASA serves as a platform for artists and industry professionals to connect, network, and showcase their work.

Restrictions

– Be an African company or artist or from the African diaspora; – Present a show less than 3 years old that has never been programmed at MASA.

What's Offered

The application file must include: 1- A short presentation of the creation (10 lines max) 2- Three high-definition scene photos 3- A biography of the artist or company (with notable creations) 4- A video teaser of the show (5 to 7 minutes) 5- A full recording of the show 6- A technical sheet specifying: – Stage dimensions; – Lighting system; – Number of artists on stage; – Duration of assembly/disassembly; – Weight and volume of sets/props; – Cost of the show. 7- A distribution sheet mentioning: – Email address and telephone number of the contact; – City of departure (unique for the entire troupe); – Nominal list with functions; – Name of the director, manager or administrative contact.
