Liepāja 2027 Announces an International Competition for Co-Financing Cultural Events
About This Opportunity
To enrich the programme of Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 with innovative, interdisciplinary, contemporary and outstanding cultural events, hence boosting the international cooperation, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation is launching an open international competition for the co-financing of cultural and artistic initiatives. Individual artists, creative teams, organisations and cultural professionals are welcome to apply with projects that can be implemented in Liepāja, South Kurzeme or the Kuldīga regions. While the main project activities will take place within the designated area, some kick-off opening events may also be supported in other locations across Latvia. Applications are open across several programme lines, including: * the interdisciplinary contemporary art programme ‘Moving Horizons’ * the photography event cycle ‘World of Images’ * the participatory performing arts programme ‘Karosta-Radosta’ * the literature and oral culture programme ‘Phantom of the Library’ * the environmental installation and digital experience programme ‘Island of Adventure’ * the visual theatre development programme ‘Open Theatre Quarter’ * the ‘Kino Sapnis’ world Film Days in Liepāja * the electronic dance music event ‘No More Heavy Metal’ Priority will be given to projects that promote international cooperation, reach and engage diverse audiences, uphold European fundamental values, demonstrate environmentally responsible practices and ensure accessibility for all social groups. Eligible applicants must be from legal entities from outside Latvia in cooperation with at least one Latvian partner. The co-financing available is up to 25,000 EUR per project. Co-financing may be used to support content creation, production and project management, venue costs, remuneration for artistic, technical and administrative staff, purchase of materials and equipment rental, travel and accommodation, as well as marketing and communication activities.
Restrictions
Eligible applicants must be from legal entities from outside Latvia in cooperation with at least one Latvian partner
