International Sculpture Biennial 2026
About This Opportunity
The Government of Chaco Urunday Foundation is calling for applications for the International Sculpture Biennial to be held 11–19 July 2026 in Resistencia, Chaco, Argentina. Ten sculptors from different countries will participate, each creating on a free theme over the course of seven consecutive days. Each sculptor will act as a representative of their country of origin, thereby reinforcing the international spirit of the contest. The Organising Committee will provide the following materials: Up to 1 cubic meter of travertine marble, with the option of requesting up to two pre-indicated cuts, depending on the project. Up to two sheets of polished stainless steel, each measuring 2 mm x 1250 mm x 2500 mm. Sculptors may choose to use either or both materials, though it is not mandatory. They may also request additional essential accessories needed to complete the work. The submitted work must be original and previously unpublished. All artworks produced during the 2026 International Sculpture Biennial will be exhibited for sixty days. After this period, they will be permanently installed in public spaces in the city, becoming part of the Cultural Heritage of Resistencia, the City of Sculptures. Each participant will receive an honorarium of 6,000 USD. The Organising Committee will cover the following expenses for participating sculptors: hotel accommodation, local transportation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
