International Comic Residency

The Maison de la littérature de Quebec, the Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l’image de Angulema and Azkuna Zentroa, Centro de Sociedad y Cultura Contemporánea de Bilbao, join forces to offer a residency to three comic authors (one French, one Spanish and one Quebecois), which will take place successively in Angulema, Bilbao and Quebec. This cross-residency program will take place consecutively in Angulema, Bilbao and Quebec from late January to late April 2026. Each stay will include a festival period (International Comic Festival in Angulema, Gutun Zuria Bilbao. International Letters Festival of Azkuna Zentroa in Bilbao and Québec BD Festival in Quebec). The winners of the scholarship will be received in the Maison des Auteurs de Angulema, Azkuna Zentroa de Bilbao and the Maison de la littérature de Quebec. Each artist will work on a personal creation project. Each entity will also organize a welcome program that may include workshops, meetings, interviews or other activities up to a maximum of 30% of the residency time.
