Identity Project Seoul Open Call

Seoul, South Korea
Musa International
Deadline: July 5, 2025

About This Opportunity

This new project, made in collaboration with Siwon Art and Insa Art Center aims to create a dynamic space for dialogue about identity, where artists can challenge, question, and reinterpret notions of selfhood and belonging. It will foster an exchange between cultures, offering insight into how artists from different backgrounds approach the themes of personal and collective identity, ultimately leading to a greater understanding of the ever-changing landscape of global art. The overarching theme will explore IDENTITY through a variety of lenses: Cultural Identity and Globalization: Artists will reflect on how their cultural heritage has adapted in the face of globalization, addressing the tension between maintaining traditions and embracing modern changes. Personal vs. Social Identity: Artists will examine the often conflicting forces between individual autonomy and societal norms, focusing on how personal identity can be both shaped and constrained by external pressures. Cross-Cultural Exploration: A key part of the exhibition will explore the convergence of European and Korean cultures, offering a dialogue between traditions, values, and artistic practices in the context of an interconnected world. The IDENTITY project will consist of two distinct but interconnected sections, each exploring the multifaceted nature of identity in our increasingly globalized world. The exhibition will emphasize the fluidity of identity, examining how cultures, traditions, and individual experiences intersect and evolve in the face of globalization.
