Filmmakers Residency: The Weight of Mountains, Vietnam is a 3-month residency program for filmmakers, taking place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The residency dates are from December 2, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Applications for the residency will open on May 2, 2025, and close on June 9, 2025. The residency is designed to provide filmmakers with a unique opportunity to explore the cultural and historical context of Vietnam, while also developing their filmmaking skills. The program will include workshops, mentorship, and access to state-of-the-art equipment. Filmmakers will have the opportunity to work on their own projects, as well as collaborate with local filmmakers and artists. The residency is open to filmmakers of all levels, from students to professionals. The application process will include submitting a proposal for a film project, as well as a CV and a letter of motivation. The selection process will be based on the quality of the proposal, as well as the applicant's experience and motivation. The residency will provide a stipend to cover living expenses, as well as access to a shared workspace and equipment. The program is organized by the Vietnam Film Institute, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
