Diriyah Art Futures: Emerging New Media Artist Programme 2025–2026 (Saudi Arabia)
About This Opportunity
The Emerging New Media Artists Programme is a supported one-year programme of theoretical engagement, creative production and technical training for emerging artists working in New Media and Digital Art in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Developed in collaboration between Diriyah Art Futures and Le Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains, the programme offers participants access to cutting-edge technology, production facilities, and mentorship from leading international artists and scholars. Over the course of the year, participants will explore themes such as AI, virtual and augmented reality, sound, cinema and digital archives. The first three months of the academic year span a series of thematic and conceptual explorations led by artists and theorists through seminars, lectures, screenings, and workshops. Over the following six months, participants will receive personalised mentorship from prominent artists, and will produce artworks using the technologies offered by the Diriyah Art Futures labs. The artwork they produce will be exhibited with Diriyah Art Futures. The programme is open to emerging creative practitioners from all over the world, with a focus on those from the Middle East and North Africa. Applicants should be 35 years or younger, at graduate or postgraduate completion stage and/or have experience in developing and creating digital and new media art.
